In 1964, just before the Beatles first landed in the U.S., their single "I Want to Hug You" reached No. 1 on the U.S. charts. The "Ed Sullivan Show" became a symbol of the Beatles' domination of the U.S., recording an astounding viewership rating of over 70% in their first TV appearance. The quality of the direct master copy is clearly different from the previous recordings, with clearer sound and sharper images. The Beatles' appearances from 1964 to 1965, when they performed live directly, are included only in this release. Of course, all the songs are included, including the Miami rehearsal in 1964, which was not officially recorded, and the rehearsal of "Help! rehearsal used for the closing song in 1965, which was not officially recorded.

The video footage includes the shows from 1966, when "You Caught That" was not included in the "Hard Days Night" movie, to 1966, when the show was broadcast in color, until 1970, when the live performances stopped. These are also recorded with upgraded video sources. The Beatles Songbook," the last special program from 1970, is included in its entirety, including the first appearance of artists other than the Beatles and commercials from the time.
