BEATFILE is releasing a complete reissue of two rare German vinyl editions of "Rubber Soul", The Beatles’ mid-career masterpiece from 1965!
The first half features the German 7th pressing, cut in 1981 using a DMM (Direct Metal Master) process unique to Germany. While this release garnered attention from collectors as a high-fidelity pressing, the mix itself was uniquely remastered for the German market; the separation—which shifts the left and right channels of the original UK stereo mix toward the center—is specific to this German edition. The second half features the 4th-press stereo edition released in 1977. This, too, features a cutting process unique to the German edition that differs from the UK version; while it retains the original 1960s stereo mix, the sound is clearer and more dynamic than even the UK pressings. For this CD release, the latest 2026 mastering—which has undergone new noise correction—fully reproduces the highest sound quality. When listened to on headphones, the differences in the mixes and the texture of the sound are clearly discernible in both versions. This is a must-have title that revives the unique sound of the analog vinyl era!
