In 1967, The Beatles wrote, directed, and shot the self-produced film "Magical Mystery Tour." In the UK, it was not a theatrical release at the time, but was broadcast on TV and later made into a video.
In this "The Vintage Movie Collection", a unique Japanese subtitle version different from the current official release is recorded together. It is a collector's edition that allows you to compare and verify the differences in Japanese subtitles with different translations and the differences in video sources. DVD1 contains two versions that have been broadcast on TV in the past.
The 2012 version was broadcast on TV along with the new remaster, and the entire story, including the lyrics of each song in the play, has its own Japanese subtitle translation. The 1993 version also includes a rare version that was broadcast only once in the past with its own Japanese subtitles, which is different from the one that was released on video.
DVD2 contains the first half “1988 video version”. Includes the first stereo remix by George Martin, the first remaster with video restoration by Ron Fermanek, and the VHS video version released in Japan. It should be noted that unlike the DVD/LD version of the previously released "SGT. The Movie Collection", this video version has unique Japanese subtitles translated. In the second half, "70's film version" is recorded. Includes an 8mm video version from the original mono film that was released with subtitles for the first time in Japan in the 70's.
This video, which has been difficult to obtain since it was discontinued in the 70's, is a valuable version now that the quality is inferior to the later video, but the original mono sound source and unique Japanese subtitles create a retro feeling. This time, we have improved the image quality by digital restoration work from the original material, and once SGT.
It is the latest restored version with improved quality compared to the first DVD on the label. It is a treasure vintage film that collectors cannot miss. "Magical Mystery Tour" where you can enjoy the difference between each video source with all original Japanese subtitles for each version. Featured "Vintage Collector's Edition" latest title! !
