A rare collection of original analog tape recordings from the UK and US versions of "Let It Be", The Beatles’ final studio album released in 1970, is now available on the BEATFILE label!
This release features direct transfers of the UK cassette tape recordings released in the 1970s and the US 8-track cartridge stereo tape recordings. The UK cassette tape source is a digital conversion of the original mix—prior to digital remastering—made directly from the master tape, rather than from a vinyl copy, resulting in a natural sound with a different sonic texture than the vinyl record. The US 8-track cartridge stereo tape source, featured in the second half, offers a dynamic sound with the characteristic US-style contrast, clearly highlighting the differences between the UK and US versions. Furthermore, due to time constraints, each version features unique track listings, with the song order differing from the original vinyl releases—a rare feature unique to analog tape recordings that adds to their appeal. (In the U.S. version, “FOR YOU BLUE” features a fade-out and fade-in midway through the track.) Both are highly sought-after releases containing analog reissues that are now difficult to obtain.
