A rare 1992 studio rehearsal recording from Steve Perry—the legendary vocalist of Journey during their peak era in the ’70s and ’80s—makes its very first appearance!
Recovered from the archives of the late bassist Phil Chen, renowned for his work with Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, and countless session and touring groups, this newly unearthed tape presents roughly 90 minutes of stereo soundboard material. Though slightly distorted at times, the recording remains exceptionally valuable.
These sessions were carried out prior to Perry’s 1994 solo release Strange Medicine, and include early run-throughs such as “Listen to Your Heart,” which later appeared on the album, as well as Journey classics like “Send Her My Love” and “Faithfully.”
