A Night at the Opera Anniversary Gold Edition
CD: Complete Restoration of the 1976 Original Analog Master + Non-Album Singles & Rarities
DVD: Newly Edited Video Album + 4-Option Select Audio Album + Video Collection
Widely praised as the pinnacle of early Queen, the landmark album A Night at the Opera—having marked its 50th anniversary last year—is released in two distinct anniversary editions: "Silver" and "Gold."
The Gold Edition comes as a 2-disc set (1CD + 1DVD). The CD features the "Original Analog Master," capturing the ultimate master tape sound faithful to the original recording from 50 years ago. Unlike previous digitally remastered CDs, this release restores the sound originally intended at the time of its initial release, presenting a complete reproduction of the analog master that differs from both existing vinyl pressings and modern digital remasters. The second half of the CD gathers non-album single edits and remixes.
The DVD opens with a "Complete Video Album" that sets every track from the album to visuals in a newly updated edit distinct from previous video releases. The "Multi-Select Audio Album" presents the full album alongside lyric videos, allowing you to choose between four distinct audio options—including the "Anniversary New Stereo Mix," "Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround," and newly edited, upgraded audio streams for "Instrumental Backing Tracks" and "Vocal Only Tracks." Finally, the "Video Collection" compiles various alternate versions and promo clips for the legendary "Bohemian Rhapsody."
Packed with fresh discoveries and nuanced differences, this newly compiled Alternate Collection—together with the simultaneously released "Silver" edition—lets you fully submerge yourself in the classic A Night at the Opera.
