In 1986, Prince had a number one hit in the U.S. and toured the world at the height of his popularity, but his creativity peaked when his band “The Revolution” broke up and he entered a transition period. He continued to record energetically in the studio. After repeated trial and error in the recording sessions, the band produced the phantom albums “Dream Factory” and “Crystal Ball,” which were put on hold, as well as “Camille” and “Black Album,” and numerous unreleased projects, and after many twists and turns, the following year, the band released the masterpiece album “Sign of the Times. The album is a chronological collection of rare and previously unreleased recordings from the recording sessions of 1986, a miraculous year that culminated in the release of the masterpiece album “Sign of the Times” the following year.
FIRST SEASON: WINTER/SPRING” includes songs from the ‘Fresh Sessions’ album ‘Dream Factory,’ which includes a performance with the legendary Miles Davis, and ‘Crystal Ball,’ which was later released in a different form. WINTER/SPRING” includes songs from the previously unreleased ‘Dream Factory’ album, including a performance with the legendary Miles Davis.
SECOND SEASON: SUMMER/AUTUMN” includes ‘Camille,’ ‘The Black Album,’ and ‘Sign of the Times,’ and is a compilation of the best of the recordings from the extensive recording sessions in 1986. This is a highly recommended new collector's item, featuring the latest up-dated “new remastered” versions of the original international editions, which have been remastered and replaced with even higher quality recordings!
