LIONHEART - UNEARTHED LEFTOVERS (1CDR)

Rare early demo sessions from Lionheart—formed around former Iron Maiden guitarist Dennis Stratton alongside Steve Mann and Rocky Newton, both of whom would later join MSG—have finally surfaced!

Although Lionheart disbanded after releasing just a single album, they recorded a vast number of demos, many of which were later released on the demo compilation Unearthed.

Making its debut here is a set of early demos recorded at the time of their formation featuring former Tygers of Pan Tang vocalist Jess Cox, which were omitted from that release.

As a supergroup formed by ex-members of two major NWOBHM acts, Lionheart generated considerable buzz at the time. However, due to a clash between the band's musical direction and Jess's vocal style, Jess stayed for merely three months, meaning these tracks capture that fleeting window.

Featuring intriguing takes—such as a faster-paced version of "Lionheart" compared to the eventual release and tracks that later appeared on Jess's solo album—this is an essential listen for die-hard fans. To top it off, this release includes two live tracks from a 1985 TV appearance featuring Chad Brown, who performed on the album.

Given that the band performed live only once other than this appearance after the album's release, these live tracks stand as an incredibly rare piece of audio history!
