★First-ever release of the 20+ minute version of “Space Truckin’.”
★Sound quality on par with official releases—far beyond any past editions.
★Not the overly delayed and reverb-drenched YouTube source, but taken from an exclusive lossless master.
The March 16, 1973 Lyon, France concert is finally available as a pressed CD in the best sound quality and performance ever! From the Who Do We Think We Are tour, this was the only soundboard recording broadcast on radio, long regarded as a classic source for including the rare track “Mary Long.”
Now, for the very first time, the uncut pre-broadcast master has surfaced, featuring over 20 minutes of “Space Truckin’” previously unreleased. The result is an upgrade of such magnitude it cannot even be compared with earlier versions—its quality rivals official releases.
As with all prior versions, “Highway Star” unfortunately still begins after a cut, but this edition omits the intrusive narration that used to appear in the intro.
While this source was also uploaded to YouTube, that version was marred by excessive delay/reverb processing and pitch instability in “Mary Long.” In contrast, this release is sourced directly from the raw, unprocessed master, mastered only with minimal necessary adjustments, preserving pristine fidelity with none of the flaws.
This is the definitive edition, finally delivering the Lyon 1973 show in its complete, uncompromised glory!
