★The latest remastered recording of 4 performances in Nagoya, Hiroshima, Kobe, and Osaka from the legendary first Japan tour in 1973. In addition, the 2nd CD 4-disc collector's edition, which contains the best quality recordings from existing recording sources, including the sound sources for the first day of Tokyo!
Japan tour in April 1973 when David Bowie, who led the peak of glam rock as Ziggy Stardust, came to Japan for the first time. Contrary to the image of an alien, he disliked airplanes and came to Japan by ship at Yokohama Port, causing a sensation in various places. From unique costumes with a Japanese taste to stage performances inspired by Kabuki, David Bowie, who was strongly influenced by Japan, performed five performances in Tokyo and four performances in each region. It is a set list unique to this tour, where new songs were also shown immediately after the release of the new album “Aladdin Sane” at the time, centering on the album “Ziggy Stardust”. "ZIGGY IN JAPAN” includes four performances in Nagoya on April 12, 1973, Hiroshima on April 14, Kobe on the 16th, and Osaka on the 17th. CD1 includes the performance at Nagoya City Public Hall on April 12th. Compared to the Tokyo performance, the sound quality quality was unstable in the first half, but the performance itself was much better. is. CD2 includes performances at Hiroshima Yubin Chokin Hall on April 14th. It is a sound source that conveys the enthusiasm of the audience more than the Nagoya performance in the second half. CD3 includes performances at the Kobe International House on April 16th in the first half. It is an incomplete recording from the second half of the stage “Five Years”, but it is noteworthy that “Round and Round” is being shown at the encore. In the second half, the performance at the Osaka Welfare Pension Hall on the 17th is recorded. Unfortunately, this is also an incomplete recording, especially until the first half "John I'm Only Dancing", the sound quality is poor, and after the second half "Jean Genie", it was supplemented with another source recording that is easier to hear. However, it is the only valuable record that exists. CD4 contains the alternate sound source of the first performance in Tokyo on April 8, which was once recorded as an analog boot. Although the original sound source fades in and fades out at the end, it is a valuable record as an alternate sound source that is different from the complete recording sound source recorded in "ZIGGY IN TOKYO". The original sound source is recorded with the latest remaster with pitch correction and noise removal.
