The legendary Beatles 1966 Japan concerts—hailed by collectors worldwide as the definitive edition—are now finally available in a newly expanded and revised Blu-ray edition of the acclaimed 2016 HMC release “TOKYO 1966”, making its debut on Blu-ray!
This upgraded version includes both June 30 and July 1 performances, originally filmed in color at the Nippon Budokan in 1966. The concerts are presented without any TV broadcast graphics or overlays, sourced directly from the original broadcast masters, including rare footage of the opening acts, all in the highest-ever visual and audio quality. Originally issued as a limited DVD by HMC and long out of print, this Blu-ray presents the material in digitally upconverted HD quality for the first time.
Additionally, this Blu-ray edition features previously unreleased extras, including vintage 1966 documentary footage and news film segments that were not included on the original DVD.
This marks the first-ever Blu-ray release of the original HMC material featuring the legendary Budokan concerts, now enhanced and expanded in what is now the definitive edition for any Beatles collector or fan.
Includes an imported, limited edition double-sided original print jacket.
